چکیده

Abstract The development of methods active separation flow control is great applied importance for many technical and engineering applications. Understanding the conditions from surface a bluff body essential design aircrafts, cars, hydro gas turbines, bridges buildings. Drag, acoustic noise, vibrations mixing depend drastically on parameters vortex process. We investigated possibility reducing longitudinal length reverse-flow region using method «synthetic jet» control. experiment was carried out compact straight-through wind channel with 1-m long test section cross-section 125x125 mm. jet placed at rear stagnation point circular cylinder. Reynolds number, based cylinder diameter free-stream velocity, 5000 von Kármán street shedding frequency without synthetic equal to 64.8 Hz. For first time, such set parameters, we high speed PIV demonstrate that injection into wake leads significant reduction in region.

and suppressing fluctuating amplitude of the dynamic wind loads acting on the test model. With 24 suction/jet holes evenly distributed over the cylindrical test model (i.e., the N13 design of the present study), the passive jet control method was found to be able to achieve up to 33.7 % in drag reduction and 90.6 % in fluctuating wind loading suppression, in comparison with the baseline case. T...

Passive Control of Flow Separation over a Circular Cylinder with Electro-Magnetic Fields: Numerical Simulation

Abstract A new second order theoretical model of the combined interaction of externally applied electric and magnetic fields and viscous incompressible fluid flows has been rewritten as a system of first order partial differential equations. The system was solved using a least-squares finite element model on an unstructured grid. The numerical algorithm is very stable and accurate. The accuracy...
